Made to Your Requirement
Most spiral bevel gears we make are not catalogue items. They are made for a particular machine, so the starting point is your drawing, a sample, or the duty the gear must handle. We work from whichever you have.
From a Drawing
A complete drawing with the number of teeth, module, face width, spiral angle, pressure angle, hand of spiral, bore, keyways and material lets us quote quickly. If something is missing, our engineers ask rather than guess.
From a Sample
When the original drawing is lost or the maker no longer exists, we measure your worn gear, rebuild the tooth data and make a new set. Reverse engineering is easier with the gear and its mating pinion, and a measured housing dimension for the mounting distance.
From Duty Data
If you are designing a new drive, give us the power, speed, ratio, shaft angle, space and expected life. We can propose the gear size, material and heat treatment and share a drawing for your approval before cutting.
Prototypes and Batches
We make single replacement sets and repeat batches for OEMs. For a new design we suggest proving one set in the machine before the batch is released.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you make one gear only?
Yes. We make single replacement sets as well as batches. The price per piece is higher for one set because setting up the machine is the same.
What if I have no drawing?
Send the worn gear, its mate and the housing details. We measure, prepare a drawing and send it to you for approval before manufacturing.
Can you improve the original design?
Often. If the original gear failed early, we can suggest a better material, a deeper case or a ground finish. Any change is agreed with you first.
